Can you believe it? Today is Mother’s Day (which means we are almost half way through the year). If you are busy and/or tend to wait to last minute (something I am guilty of), now is the time to think about what you want (or what you want to give).
What Do Moms Want?
Knowing that what I want is not exactly what everyone else wants, I decided to do some research myself and put out a survey. I asked friends and family what they would like as a gift (or what they like to give as a gift) and the results are in!!! Below are the top three things moms want.
1. Moms Want To Be Pampered
Moms are busy and a lot of times do not put themselves first (I know I am guilty of this). It should be no surprise that mons want to be pampered. They want a spa day… including a facial, massage, manicure and pedicure. Give a mom a glass of wine and let someone take care of her. A Spa Day can be expensive so if you can’t splurge on a spa day, you may be able to score a deal on Groupon. Another option would be to buy a few spa products and and create an at-home spa experience. Make mom feel good.
2. Moms Want A Break
It was good to see that I am not the only one that feels like I don’t get a break. Moms want some time to sleep in, go potty (by themselves without the audience), shower by themselves, read a book with no interruptions, have someone else run errands and do the household chores. To me, this is the perfect gift to give as it is basically free!
3. Moms Want Experiences
Dinner. Theater tickets. A getaway (long or short). These are just some of the things moms mentioned they wanted. They also mentioned that they wanted their experiences to be kid free. It is not that they do not want to be with their kids… they just want to be able to enjoy the experience without having to take someone potty or stop a meltdown. I know I can definitely relate!!!
So… What will Moms get?
1. Flowers
It is no surprise that the most popular answer by far was flowers. Flowers are classic. With so many flowers in the world and each having its own meaning, a bouquet can be beautiful and personal.
2. Jewelry
I see it. You see it. Ads from jewelry stores are everywhere. A piece of jewelry is a gift that can last a life time. Whether you get your mom a nice pair of earrings, a charm bracelet, or a necklace… make sure to ask her what she would like…. after all you do want to see her wear it.
3. Spa Day
Moms want a Spa Day and moms will get it! From a mani/pedi to a massage to a facial…. You know (or at least those that took my survey know) that moms want to be pampered. You really can’t go wrong with the gift of a spa day. So what are you waiting for… go get that mom in your life a spa day!
As A Mami…
Honestly speaking…. And I am sure I am not the only one that feels like this… Mother’s should not be celebrated only one day out of the year. They should be celebrated everyday. I actually told my girls that “every day is Mother’s Day” and we even made up a song for it. I want my daughters to know that it is important to love their mom EVERY SINGLE DAY…. But I won’t complain when I get a gift on Mother’s day. So… what do you want and/or what are you getting that mom in your life?
My name is Michelle and I am the wife of the hardest working man I know, the Mami of 3 beautiful and AMAZING girls and a Pathologists’ Assistant turned Stay at Home Mami turned Mompreneur of not one… or two… but three businesses! I am super excited to share my experiences and learn from you. As women/moms/entrepreneurs, we must stick together and support each other!
When I’m a mom I totally want all of this! Saving!
Yes!!! You will love it all and then some ;-)!
So true! Mother’s Day should be celebrated everyday!

Yessss! And now is the time to tach our little ones 😉
I would just love a day of being pampered. I don’t even care what the pampering is. Haha. I would also love a day to shop in a store with a friend. It’s impossible to shop and while I love ordering stuff online – it’s just not the same! Hope you had a great Mother’s Day! xo

I completely agree about the pampering and didn’t even think about shopping alone! It is so difficult shopping with my little ones… lol! I hope you had a great Mother’s Day too!!
