How A Photoshoot Helped This Mami Get Her Confidence Back

ACTION!!!

Ok… maybe it wasn’t those words exactly, but that is exactly how it felt this past November when I participated in an Art Deco inspired styled wedding photoshoot for Top Knot Occasions. I seriously felt like a movie star! I can’t even remember when I felt that much confidence… but that may just me my mom brain talking LOL. As a result of this photoshoot, I felt like this Mami got her confidence back!

The Details…

This fun photoshoot took place at the Inn at Middletown which is a boutique hotel with a great blend of old-world colonial and contemporary styles. With 100 newly-renovated guest rooms and suites AND your choice of banquet rooms for that special event, the Inn at Middletown was the perfect location for this photoshoot.

Lauren of LA Page Makeup worked her makeup magic. She is a fabulous, down to earth artist that will make any wedding day easier!

I modeled a gorgeous jewel toned bridesmaid dress from Dynamite Designs Boutique and an absolutely stunning wedding dress from Bliss Bridal.

DV Bridal created the custom hair pieces we wore.

In my hands, I held the most beautiful arrangement of flowers made by Amberworks Floral Design.

Centerpieces by Amberworks Floral Design; signage by TS Calligraphy; and a cupcake bouquet by Sofy Cakes completed the reception details.

Kelly, from Top Knot Occasions, was the artistic director of the photoshoot. She had a vision and brought it to life using amazing vendors which is evident by the photos in this post which were all taken by Live Lively Photography… who has an amazing eye for detail and makes you feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera. Working with the other models, Amy Marie and Paul, made the photoshoot that much more fun and memorable.

What I Learned…

This photoshoot was so much fun and reminded me of my younger self. When I became a mom (learn more about me here), I can honestly say my confidence disappeared. Why? Because I now focus the majority (if not all) of my attention on my daughters. I admittedly get caught up in the daily routine and caring for others that I forget about myself. Because of this photoshoot, getting all glammed up and having fun changed that routine. It reminded me that I need to focus on ME more; that I should not feel any mom guilt when I take time for ME; and that a confident and happy ME benefits my family as well.

So… I am ready for my next photoshoot!!!

  4. Hi lovely! I believe I must have commented before (or at least on the Instagram post), but your blog post popped up on my newsfeed when I was scrolling Facebook and I had to read it again. You were an amazing model for this photo shoot, (And if you’re looking to model again I know who to ask!) The goal was to create a styled shoot for Top Knot Occasions, however, my personal goal is that I always want my model/bride/couple/subject to feel their absolute best. My number one goal is that I want the people I photograph to see their inner glow the same way that I do and to walk away feeling really good about themselves, confident, and beautiful. Your blog post made me tear up. I am so happy that the photo shoot had such a positive impact! <3 <3 <3
