Wow! 2018 has come to an end and it sure has gone by in the blink of an eye… and what a year it has been. It was a year of learning and growing in all aspects of my life which will carry over and continue in 2019.
As a WIFE…
In 2018… After 7 years, I finally gathered up the courage to go on a weekend getaway with my husband. It is something he has been wanting to do for a while but I have always been nervous to leave my daughters with other people (even family). The fear of missing out and not being in control was too strong for me. However, I could see how important it was for him and I honestly needed the break after being with my daughters 24/7 for the past 7 years. It was an amazing weekend and taught me it was ok (and needed) to spend alone time with my husband. Click here to read more about our weekend getaway.
In 2019… we are definitely going on another weekend getaway… maybe even two! I’m not sure if I am ready to travel really far or go for a longer time period… but I know I can do it and everyone will be fine (including me). Now we just have to think of where we can go next.
As a MAMI…
In 2018… I watched my daughters grow and develop their own unique personalities. I gave my youngest daughter the gift of time (which I did with my oldest too) and decided to wait to send her to kindergarten because she is a late October birthday. As a result, she has become more independent and has grown socially. Over the course of the year, my oldest developed a love for reading and has become an avid reader spending more time with books than toys (I like to say it’s in her blood and she gets it from her Mami). At the end of June, I made a tough decision to schedule both of my daughters for surgery in August to improve their quality of life. To see your child undergo any surgery is scary, but knowing that the benefits outweigh the risk is worth it. I immediately starting seeing the benefits of the surgery and they are now happy and thriving.
In 2019… I will continue to give my daughters room to explore the world and become their own unique person. My little one will be starting kindergarten so I know she will be reading by the end of the year (I can’t believe I just wrote that). The oldest will be entering second grade and has already expressed interest in school clubs and organizations. I will continue to make memories with them, love them, support them and provide opportunities for exposure so they are open-minded and kind. We will also have at least one big travel adventure which I am excited for.
As a BLOGGER
In 2018… I became more comfortable with the world of blogging. I started the year off with an amazing collaboration with Keira from Bad As A Mother and other amazing women. You can click here for access to 14 Days of Love and the many ways to love yourself. For the first time I shared My Miscarriage story and bared my soul which was one of the hardest things I have done. In the end it was therapeutic and I know it made a difference to others. Click a part to read it (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3). I was also featured on bloggers to watch in Local CT and did my first podcast interview with Beautiful-Lee Free. Click here here to read more. Lastly, I continued woeking on my goal of helping other women work from home as I created the a resource guide of the 9 Apps & Websites You Need to Work From Home Successfully which you can get by clicking here.
In 2019… I’m already starting off with an amazing collaboration focusing on the #healthyentrepreneur and have more in the works. I will focus on being more consistent and providing more content and resources for you. My main goal is to continue to step out of my comfort zone and grow.
As a BEAUTYCOUNTER CONSULTANT
In 2018… I stepped out of my comfort zone more than I have in the past which led to new clients and my best month to date.
In 2019… I have a big event scheduled at the Beautycounter store in NYC and I am so excited. Sharing the importance of safer personal care products and cosmetics will be a message I will continue to share. This will be the year I grow my team and make a few promotions.
