Having just celebrated Earth Day / Week, I thought I would share three B-Corps that you need to check out. Now, you may be wondering… what is a B-Corp? A B-Corp (with B standing for Benefit) is a for-profit company that is certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. They believe that business should be used as a force for good… doing no harm and benefitting all including consumers, employees, local communities, the environment and the company (how cool is that?!?!). To learn more about B-Corporations, click here. I first learned about B-Corps when I became a Beautycounter Consultant. Since then, I have since been trying to support as many B-Corps as I can. The following 3 B-Corps are ones that you must check out!

1. Beautycounter

With a mission of getting safer products into everyone’s hands, Beautycounter uses the power of business to help solve social and environmental problems by voluntarily meeting higher standards of transparency, accountability, and performance in the beauty industry. They educate consumers on the need for safer ingredients in the everyday personal care products they use. With the strictest ingredient selection process in the industry, Beautycounter is able to provide effective and safe personal care and cosmetic products for everyone… men and women, babies to adults. The mission and the products are part of the reason why I became a Beautycounter Consultant. To learn more about why I became a Consultant, click here.

As a mom, my three favorite products for the kids are the Beautycounter Kids Conditioner, the Beautycounter Baby Balm and the Beautycounter Diaper Bag.

  • The conditioner has been a game changer for bath time. I no longer have to fight with my girls to untangle their hair as it is SUPER easy with the conditioner.
  • The baby balm has literally worked wonders on my daughters’ eczema. I apply it 2-3 times a day on the driest parts of their skin to prevent the skin from breaking and itching.
  • The diaper bag has become my new purse. With so many compartments it makes it easy to carry everything I need for my girls.

For me personally, my favorite products are the Beautycounter Cleansing Balm, the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion (for face and body), and the Ultimate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette.

  • The Cleansing Balm is an AMAZING multitasking product. It can be used as a cleanser, makeup remover, mask, and highlighter to name a few things. A little goes a long ways when using this product and because of that it can last 10+ months!
  • The Countermatch collection is one of the newer collections and the Adaptive moisturizer for the face and the body have become my daily go to products. Using bio-mimic technology, the lotion adapts to your skin’s needs providing 24 hour moisture support as needed. I love that my face doesn’t feel dry and my legs do not get ashy and dry anymore which is a BIG win in my book.
  • Lastly, the Ultimate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette includes 18 neutral shades (with a variety of finishes including satin, metallic and matte), a double-ended brush, and a removable mirror which makes it easy to use anywhere. If you feel you are not confident applying makeup or choosing colors, this is the palette for you as each column of colors are meant to work with each other!

2. Jelt Belt

Jelt Belt is a B-Corporation that was developed out of necessity for a functional belt that worked. What attracted me to them was the fact that the belts are made for ages 5 and up, are made out of 100% recycled water bottles, have a buckle made out of plastic (which is great for traveling and going through security) and a gel on one side that prevents it from sliding around which makes it great to wear with jeans, leggings or dresses. It also has a patent-pending buckle design that won’t show a bulge under fitted shirts… which to me is awesome! The icing on the cake for me was that they donate a portion of every sale to non-profit programs that support veterans, children, and the environment.

I was so excited to learn of this belt and could not wait to try it for myself and my daughter. My oldest daughter is 6 and at the in-between clothes size. We have been looking for a belt for a while and she was super happy when I told her I found one for her.

Honestly, I was a little nervous when I first received the belt because I was not sure if she would be able to unbuckle the clip (it took me a few seconds to try). But, I gave her the belt with no instructions and she figured it out in 5 seconds flat (so there went that concern). She quickly put it on and screamed how much she loved it. Off to school she went and when she came home all she could say was how happy she was that her pants did not fall down when she was at recess (she’s very active and runs all around so this was good news). She has worn the belt just about everyday since we received it. I always say if you want to know the truth, ask a child and the truth has spoken… she loves the Jelt Belt!

As for me, I too LOVE the belt. As a mom of two little ones, I am ALWAYS moving. The belt helped keep my jeans up without being uncomfortable and without showing that awkward belt buckle through my shirt. I also styled it with a dress and was quite surprised when it didn’t move up and down as other belts have done in the past. Wearing the belt with a dress was also a great guard for when my little ones tried to climb up my dress (I’m sure I’m not the only mom with that problem… LOL)! I will definitely be ordering a few more of the Jelt Belts in different colors.

3. Noonday Collection

The first thing that caught my attention about Noonday Collection is the origin of its name which comes from Isaiah 58:10: “If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday”. How powerful is that?!?! Noonday Collection believes that profit and purpose can go hand in hand. They operate as a for-profit business because it allows them to grow sustainably while making a greater impact. To do this, they currently partner with 29 Artisan Businesses in 12 countries. This creates economic opportunities for more than 4,400 Artisans which impacts over 20,000 family members in vulnerable communities.

The second thing that makes Noonday Collection a company to checkout as the products. The jewelry and accessories from Noonday Collection are beautiful and unique. Each piece is handmade and have their own story. Since the pieces are created from collaborations with Artisan designers around the world, you get modern styles with a global look and feel… my type of jewelry for sure!!!

Most people that know me, know that earrings are my weak point. Now that my girls are old enough to know that they shouldn’t pull my earrings (at least most of the time), I had to order me a pair. When you place an order, you can order online or from an Ambassador. I ordered through my friend Nicole who is an Ambassador. The earrings where shipped quickly and I absolutely love them. You can see the attention to detail in the craftsmanship. There is nothing better than jewelry that makes you feel beautiful and empowered!
